ROYAL NAVY SUBMARINE LOSSES
NORFOLK
Research has shown that there are four recorded British Royal Navy submarine losses off the Norfolk Coast, plus speculation that the submarine C33 could also be in the area. Four of these vessels have been located and identified, these being the C11, D5, E22 and the Umpire. To date the C33 has not been located. There is speculation that the C33's loss may be attributed to hitting a mine on the Smiths Knoll minefield.
